Theatre is alive and well, even when we're not allowed outside! This is a unique opportunity for your young performer to participate in an all-online production! Audition for, rehearse and perform an entire theatrical production - all online! The first session will hold auditions for placement within the cast (audition scenes will be distributed ahead of time along with an instructional video). Two more rehearsals will be held with the entire cast. Each cast member will also have a one-on-one online coaching session with the director. Costumes will be created. Sets will be constructed - either physically or virtually! Then audience members will be invited to the final performance. All online! Cast members will also learn about the technology of performing in a virtual environment. Open to all performers within the specified age group. Performers do not have to be "Spotlight Kids". They don't even need to be from the Rochester are! |
10 Ways to Survive Life in a QuarantineGrades 3-6 REHEARSE: PERFORMANCE: If you're spending a long time at home, it can be a challenge to keep yourself occupied. Luckily, 10 Ways to Survive Life in a Quarantine is full of handy solutions, from putting on a musical with your dog, to becoming an announcer for a made-up sport, to falling in love with an inanimate object. Hey, we promised handy solutions - we never said they wouldn't be strange. Whether or not you're inspired to take up origami and squirrel observation, this production is sure to bring a laugh to anyone who finds themselves unexpectedly indoors. |
The Internet is Distract--OH LOOK A KITTEN!Grades 5-12 REHEARSE: PERFORMANCE: Micah only has twenty minutes to finish her paper on The Great Gatsby. She just needs to check a few facts on the internet first. Unfortunately, the web is a nefariously wacky place where boxing cats, Facebook lurkers, and pig-throwing games threaten to take over Micah's schoolwork, or worse. Will she finish her paper and escape with her life before the school bell rings? A high-octane comedy that explores the rabbit hole of distraction we all go down every time we go online. |
