Drawing Tuesday, October 14

Balloon Manor 2008, SCARE U: Ghoul School is giving away a family four-pack of tickets to four families: Ttwo packs each on Wednesday, Oct. 22 and Thursday, Oct. 23. Both days' hours of operation are 3 to 9:30 PM, and this year's Manor is at the Mall at Greece Ridge in the Bon Ton wing. SCARE U is a frighteningly-funny monster college featuring classes in Anti-Social Studies, Inhumanities and more, and it's a fundraiser for Teens Living with Cancer. It is once again a 10,000-square-foot haunted house made from 100,000 balloons, built by a team of 65 balloon artists from all over the world along with several hundred community volunteers. Drawing Tuesday, October 14

Holiday Hollow in Pembroke, NY is giving away a family four-pack of tickets to their famous Halloween Festival, which is held weekends from 11am-5pm. This "happy-not-scary" annual festival is a favorite with folks from all over New York State, from the youngest tykes through the adults who actually understand all the puns. The winner's tickets will be good for the weekend of October 18-19 or October 24-25. They will be held at the door.

 

Drawing Wednesday, October 22

Marie Avallone, a hairstylist at Salon Hermitage (586-6880) on Monroe Avenue in Pittsford, is hosting a drawing for one $15 gift certificate towards a haircut or hair service. This certificate can be used for only one family member. To enter the drawing, please send your name, address, phone and e-mail address to marieavallone@yahoo.com. Drawing Friday, October 24

The Monroe County Fair and Gary the Happy Pirate are giving away two pairs of adult admissions ($5 each) to TreatFest – a Halloween Party for the entire family. TreatFest, at the Fair and Expo Center, 2695 East Henrietta Rd, Henrietta, is a fun-filled, safe alternative to traditional Halloween activities for children and their parents. Because a portion of the TreatFest proceeds benefit the Pirate Toy Fund, you can also “give a smile” to a Rochester area child in need while having a great family experience! There will be two days of safe trick-or-treating, face painting, balloon creatures, a kid friendly haunted house and other fun-filled activities. In addition to the festivities, a DJ will play kids music on Halloween night and Gary the Happy Pirate will perform Saturday, November 1. Regular admission is $5 per person and Kids 12 and Under are FREE!
